With their debut album Red Lights out last February and tours with Simple Plan, Hawthorne Heights and Mayday Parade behind them, Manchester four-piece Milestones have successfully made a name for themselves in the pop punk scene.
Here, the band chat with Lizzie’s Lowdown about their success on the back of the record, the support shows they’ve played and their plans for the future.
Congratulations on Red Lights, you must be pretty pleased with the amazing response it has received?
Thank you so much! Yeah it’s been amazing honestly, it’s unreal to see so many people connect with our music.
Rock Sound gave you the chance to play their Breakout Stage at the weekend, how did your first Slam Dunk go?
It was amazing! We got to hang out with a load of friends we’ve not seen in ages, while meeting new people too and also got to play some of the best shows we have ever done. We’re very thankful that Rock Sound and Slam Dunk have giving us the chance to experience that.
You’ve previously played with some really credible bands such as Simple Plan, Hawthorne Heights and Mayday Parade, what did you learn from those guys?
We learned so much from them all. They taught us a lot about touring smarter and knowing their stories in a bit more detail inspired us all. Knowing how hard they’ve worked to be where they are is insane.
How has life changed since those support shows?
Our shows have gotten busier and a lot more wild. We’re incredibly thankful to all of those bands for putting us on that platform to win over potential fans.
Are there any other bands that you would really like to play with in the near future?
Oh there’s so many I wouldn’t even know where to begin! We love touring and there’s a hell of a lot of bands we’d love to be out with!
What other up and coming bands should we be listening to that you would like to bring out on the road with you?
The Faim, Stand Atlantic, Holding Absence, Loathe, Parting Gift, Dream State, basically any band that have just played the Rock Sound stage at Slam Dunk - all incredible guys!
What have been the pinch yourself moments of your career so far?
I think the big stand out one for me was visiting Disney in the day time and then going on to play a sold out House Of Blues to over 2,000 people. That was a bit wild.
What's the plan for the rest of the year?
Touring and more touring I would like to hope! We’re trying to be as busy as possible.
