Young Floyd - Young Floyd (EP review, university assessment)

An original, a Nirvana cover and an instrumental song featuring samples of the late Stephen Hawkings, Young Floyd’s self-titled debut EP should really not work as well as it does. With soft, distant vocals that sound almost hazy throughout the EP, accompanied only by strong but minimalistic guitar lines, Liam Floyd, better known as Young Floyd, has really managed to create a unique sound for himself. With such a strong solo debut, as well as being involved in other successful Brighton-based projects such as Washington and Liam Floyd & The Soy Boys, Young Floyd is one to keep an eye out for in the Brighton music scene.
